Ce SACD regroupe le Concerto pour Piano et Orchestre N°1 en mi majeur Wov N°9, le Concerto pour piano et Orchestre N°2 en si bémol majeur Wov N°15, ainsi que le Konzertstück en fa majeur Op.79 de Carl Maria von weber (1786-1826). Cette dernière pièce, datant de 1821 "n’est pas un concerto en son sens classique, mais bien une "pièce de concert", petit poème symphonique avant la lettre, d’un seul mouvement divisé en quatre sections", précise François-René Tranchefort, avant d’ajouter : "Ce Konzertstück déploie des séductions qu’il n’est pas courant d’apprécier dans les programmes de concert qui s’accommodent mal d’œuvres si brèves. Œuvres pour autant, qu’il ne faudrait surtout pas qualifier de mineures !" Le label BIS rend donc justice à ce manque, avec une interprétation musicale des plus réussies, sous les doigts virtuoses de Ronald Brautigam au piano forte. Sans oublier la direction idoine de Michael Alexander Willens qui offre, à ces partitions, avec la Kölner Akademie, les plus beaux coloris qui soient. A redécouvrir absolument.
